The Heartland District has just experienced an amazing Summer Camp Season! We are thrilled to report back to you that the responses from our District Camps were both inspiring and encouraging as we all look toward “Restocking” our shelves with young leaders and equipping our next generation to serve and follow God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.
In an effort to strengthen the call to discipleship within our churches, we have been asked to distribute and collect “Camper’s Experience Cards” at each of our camps. We then share with the National Foursquare NextGen office the exciting responses to God happening at all of our camps around the Heartland District. Camps are a vital and important part of our ministry, and our Foursquare Movement, as well as its leaders, are committed to keeping this ministry on the forefront of the conversation in raising up the next generation of leaders!
Allow me to share with you the exciting (reported) responses from our students this summer:
- 824 students attended 10 Heartland District Camps ranging in ages from Elementary to High School & Young Adults
- 101 students accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior for the first time
- 231 students responded that they rededicated their lives to Jesus
- 186 students responded they had been touched by God’s healing power
- 132 students responded that they received the baptism of the Holy Spirit
- 90 students responded that they received a call into full-time ministry
God is certainly good! We have sent this letter along with the response cards that were submitted to each church that had students fill them out. While we believe that camp is an awesome life-changing event, we also believe that it is the “Launching Point” for continual discipleship in the local church ministry.
We’ve encouraged leaders to use these cards as a tool to follow up with their students as they pursue God’s call on their lives. For students that checked the “Called to Full-Time Ministry” box, we’ve created The MAP for info on pre-service ministry training available to them within the Heartland District. Continued discipleship in these students lives has never been more important!
Planning for our 2015 Summer Camp Season has already begun, and we are excited for what God is going to do next year! As always, we are here to serve and resource you. If you have any questions, concerns, ideas, or needs, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
